Reverend Clarence William Bailey died May 25, 2004 in Durham, North Carolina. He was born in Los Angeles, California on March 19, 1923 to the late Clarence and Aultna McAlphine Bailey. 

Bill served as associate pastor and minister of education at Lakeside Baptist Church in North Myrtle Beach. He had been a Durham resident and active member at Angler Avenue Baptist Church at the time of his death.

Surviving are his wife of 19 years, Belle Mitchell Bailey of Durham; five children; two stepchildren; eleven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Bill was preceded in death by his first wife of 42 years, Nell Enslen Bailey.
