Helen Sommer Chandler (July 2, 1915 - November 10, 2006) passed away at Rio Hondo Convalescent Home, in Montebello. A life-long Southern California native, she was born in South Pasadena to Carl and Violet Sommer. She attended Pasadena City College and graduated from UCLA with a degree in sociology. She began her career with the State Department in Adoptions. Later she earned her masters and held the position of Hearing Officer when she retired. She and her husband were residents of Monterey Park since 1948.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Blake chandler. Helen's smile, wit, and gracious heart will be missed dearly by many loving life long friends.
