He was born in Chicago and worked in furniture manufacturing. He served in the Army during World War II and was a member of the Shadow Ridge Country Club. Survivors include his wife, Wanda; daughter, Patricia Gosswiller of San Diego; son, Michael of Portland, Oregon; stepdaughter, Joanne Schurman of Whidbey Island, Washington; stepsons, Ron and Rob Hund of San Diego and Patrick Hund of Santa Barbara; sister, Celeste Brunner of Albany, New York; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
