Richard V Newton

Richard "Dick" Newton was born June 10, 1918 in Los Angeles and passed away November 29, 2004 in Apple Valley at the age of 86.

Richard is survived by his daughter Sue of Apple Valley and his brother Gerald of St. George, Utah.  Dick is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Richard was a tax accountant/bookkeper, working initially for Forest F. Newton and Sons, a produce brokerage in Los Angeles and later in his own business, RVN Business Services.  He proudly served in the Army Air Corps (Air Force) as a captain and navigator in the Ferry Command during World War II and as a commercial-navigator for Universal Airlines.  He graduated from South Pasadena High School in 1936, where he was senior class president.

He was a member of the Elks and Coast Guard Auxiliary.  He also enjoyed the role of being an amateur meteorologist and being a part of SMUG (Smart MacIntosh Users Group), a MacIntosh computer club, while living in Apple Valley.
