Dorothy Weatherly Russell (Grandma Dottie) passed away on Saturday July 21, 2007, due to natural causes while visiting her son, Rick, in Europe. 

She was born in Alhambra, CA on May 26, 1923.  She attended South Pasadena High School, where she met her future husband, Robert Russell.  They spent time in Yuma, Arizona in the Air Corps in the 1940s.  Robert was a master Sergeant and Dorothy was a dental assistant.  They moved to Pasadena, CA after 1946 and had her three sons, Michael, Rick, and Craig.  She spent the last 35 years of her life living in Newport Beach, CA.  She spent several years in the real estate business and she also spent time working at Pacific Life for her son, Michael, insurance agent.  She is survived by her sons, Michael and Rick; her grandchildren, Kate, Patrick, Meghan, Melissa, and Niko Hunter; and great-grandchildren, Joey and Maida.
