Alan Albert Dale

Alan Dale passed away August 20, 2008. He was the only child of Alan and Ina Dale of Pasadena.

Alan graduated from high school, enlisted in the US Navy V-12 program and graduated from Perdue University with a degree in engineering. He married Nancy McGranahan while they were in the Navy in Jacksonville, Florida. They were married 62 years.

Upon his discharge from the Navy, Alan worked at Northrup Aviation, then moved to Paso Robles in 1947, where he worked as salesman and part-owner of Sid Nichols Chevrolet. Upon closure of the company he was in charge of the Parks and Recreation Department in Paso Robles. Alan and Nancy were very active in community affairs and were state officers of the square dancers association. They moved to Blakeley Island, Washington where they partnered a marina for several years. Upon selling the marina, they built a home in Mt. Vernon, Washington where they resided for many years. Health issues moved them back to Paso Robles.

Alan is survived by his wife, Nancy.
