Robert Wallace Houts

Bob (May 15, 1927 - Novenber 25, 2018) was born at Huntington Hospital, the son of Clifton and Mary Elsa Houts. He was the youngest of four children, sisters Martha Jane and Suzanne (SPHS '42) and brother, Bruce (SPHS '44). He grew up in South Pasadena and served in both the Merchant Marines and the Army Air Corps during World War II. He was married to Dorothy Woods in 1952 in Boulder City, Nevada.

As a civilian he became part of the 1352th Photographic Group of the Air Force in Hollywood as a sounds man and rose to the position of Head of Sound at DAVA at Norton Air Base in San Bernardino. He remained there until his retirement in 1982. He was a long time resident of both Cedar Pines Park, in the San Bernardino Mountains and Lakeland Village in Lake Elsinore. 

He is survived by his wife and five of his six children:  Susan (Parker) Clark, Mary Anne (Christopher) Keller, Christopher (Letha) Houts, Robert Jr (Sharon) Houts, and Carol (Gregory) Hall; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His daughter Laura Houts, his parents and siblings preceded him in death.
