Catherine Slater (Martin)

Catherine "Kate" Slater Martin was born in Los Angeles on December 7, 1929 and passed away January 6, 2005 in Los Angeles after a long illness with lung cancer.

She attended South Pasadena-San Marino High School and obtained a bachelor degree in Art History from the University of California Berkeley (1951) where she was affiliated with Gamma Phi Beta sorority.  Obtaining a teaching credential in her thirties, she taught in the Arcadia School District touching the lives of hundreds of children for 27 years.

Kate is survived by her husband of 52 years, Robert, and daughters Lynn Martin Snowden and Karen Watson (Scott).  She is also survived by three wonderful grandsons.  Kate will be extraordinarily missed by her family and many faithful friends.
