Edmond Ted Colliau Jr

Edmond "Ted" Colliau Jr.  '49  a 50-year resident of South Pasadena and former owner of Colliau Chevrolet Company of that city, passed away on November 1, 2005 at the age of 74.  He was born in Detroit, Michigan on August 29, 1931, the oldest son of Edmond H. Colliau, Sr. and Alice Colliau.

He and his family moved to South Pasadena in 1946 when his father founded the dealership on Fair Oaks Avenue.  He graduated from South Pasadena-San Marino High School in 1949 and received his degree from the University of California at Berkeley in 1953.  In 1954 he married Eleanor and after a stint in the Army joined his father at the Dealership.  He was Owner and President from 1971 - 1986.  Between 1987 - 1991 he was co-owner of Autumn Motors in Ridgecrest, California.

He was involved in numerous industry and civic organizations over the years.  Most recently he spent considerable time during his retirement organizing and running the South Pasadena-San Marino YMCA Christmas Tree Lot.  He is survived by his brother Dick (SPHS '55), three children; Michael (SPHS '74) and wife Jeanne, Douglas (SPHS '76) and wife Karen, Anne Smith (SPHS '79) and husband Chris; four grandchildren, and long time companion Nancy Stovall.
