Conrad was a friend of mine.  He was a very funny guy.  He was also a very fast runner.  When we would ride our bicycles he would always have  to be out in front of everyone else.  One day we were riding our bicycles and he was out in front and he went a corner before the rest of us did.  We heard a loud yell and then heard a crash.  When we came oround the corner we found that Conrad had come upon a moving van with the rear door down and he had riddent right up into the moving van and crashed into the furniture.  Still another time several of us guys were staying a week at Crestline in the mountains during Easter Week.  It was the same week that Bill Haley and the Comets came out with their hit record, "Rock Around the Clock".  We were just starting to learn how to dance to rock & roll music and Conrad was the first to master the new type of dancing.  During the years I knew him I never saw him down or not in a good mood.  He was a fun guy to be around.  He coined a phrase that I still us sometimes--"what are we gonna do ?".  We were always told that Conrad was an Egyptian Prince.  I never doubted it.
