Shirley Ann Barnes (Wynn)

Shirley Ann Barnes Wynn died November 21, 2006 in Dallas, Texas.  She was born December 18, 1925, in Nogales, Arizona, to Ruby DeChaum and Jesse C. Barnes.  She was educated at Redlands College and received both a bachelor's degree in Education and a master's degree in Speech Therapy from Stanford University. 

Shirley Wynn is survived by her husband of 53 years, W. Forrest "Sleepy" Wynn of Dallas; son Claude Forrest Wynn and wife Deborah Bowles Wynn of Houston; daughter Adrienne Wynn Beauchamp and husband Richard Beauchamp of Dallas; four grandchildren; sister Jane Barnes Ramsland of Midland, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends and admirers in Texas and Pebble Beach, California.

Shirley led an active life and shared generously with a multitude of charitable organizations.  While living in Midland, TX, she served on the Federal Grand Jury, was a member of the Junior League of Midland, and served on the Board of Directors of the YMCA.  After moving to Dallas, Shirley lent her support to numerous national, state, and local organizations.  Her avid collecting of paintings along with her love and support of the arts led to Shirley opening a successful art gallery in Dallas.  Shirley and Sleepy were honored in 1991 and 1992, at the "Art About Town" event benefiting Easter Seals.  Shirley was active as a private investor in the oil and gas industry.
