Martha Bowen Sykes, a homemaker, died November 28, 1997 in Walnut Creek, California.  She was 85.

Born May 11, 1912, the native of Washington moved to Walnut Creek two months ago from Pleasant Hill and Concord, where she had lived for 20 years.  She was a member of P.E.O. for 50 years.  She enjoyed music, nature, and the arts.

Martha is survived by her great-nephew, Doug Carr; great-niece, Barbara Warner; nephew Wallace Bowen; and niece, Jeanne Share.
