William Curl Clausen, the son of Mr & Mrs William H Clausen of Oildale, California, was born in Long Beach, California September 28, 1919. After attending public schools at Long Beach, he attended the South Pasadena High School where he graduated. While there, he joined the South Pasadena chapter of the DeMolays.

When attending the Bakersfield Junior College, he joined the Naval Air Corps at Long Beach in March of 1942. He obtained a leave to graduate with his class in the local JC on the last Friday in May. After completing preliminary training at Long Beach he entered advanced flying at Corpus Christi, Texas. He was nearing graduation when he collided with another plane and was killed on July 18, 1942. 

Bill is survived by his parents, Mr and Mrs William H Clausen, Oildale, a sister, Virginia Lorraine (SPHS '37), and a brother, Eugene.
