Thomas V Cokley

Thomas Virgil Cokley, 43, of Fortuna, California died January 5, 1962 at a Fortuna hospital. He was born August 22, 1918 in Oaksdale, Washington. He came to the Rio Dell area in 1940 and had been a resident of Fortuna for the past 12 years. He owned and operated a Rohnerville service station and had at one time been employed by the Pacific Lumber company. A veteran of World War II serving with the 19th Infantry, he was a member of the Catholic church and was Past Noble Grand of Rohnerville Odd Fellows Lodge. His membership also included the 20-30 Club and the Lions Club.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia M Cokley, Fortuna; daughters, Mrs Peggy Hinchcliff, Fortuna, Mrs Doris Algeri, Rio Dell; father, William A Cokley, Rohnerville; sisters, Mrs Wilsie M Riese (SPHS '40), Carmichael, Mrs Ila Chaplin, Gold Hill, Oregon; grandmother, Mrs Mae Tucker, Spokane, Washington; four grandchildren. Numerous other relatives survive.
