Occupation(s), Career Details

I graduated from the University of Idaho in 1955 with a BSME degree. I was employed by North American Aviation at their mountain top rocket engine test laboratory at Santa Susana, CA. I worked on the rocket engines for the Navaho, Jupiter, Thor, Atlas, Saturn, and Space Shuttle launch vehicles. My specialized field was in test, design, and development of the turbomachinery. The company evolved into a division named Rocketdyne which is still in business in Canoga Park, CA. I retired in 2002 after 47 years with the firm.

Other South Pasadena schools I also attended

Oneonta Elementary
Stoneman Elementary (SM)
South Pasadena Junior High
Huntington Elementary (SM)

Family history living in South Pasadena

Moved to 1104 Diamond from Vancouver Washington in 1935. Moved to Alhambra in 1936 and returned to S. Pasadena in 1937 and lived at 2014 Primrose until 1941 when we moved to 2508 Oak Knoll Ave. in San Marino where my family lived until 1969. I attended Oneonta School in K, 1st, and 2nd grades. In San Marino I attended Stoneman school in 3rd and 4th grades; Huntington School in 5th through 8th grades; SPJHS in 9th grade and SPSMHS in 10th through 12th grades. My father, Allan Eddy, owned and operated an ice cream plant at 845 El Centro until 1941, then a machine shop on Mission during WWII, and then a machine shop at the Violet Ray Ice Co. plant on El Centro (just West of the RR tracks) from 1946 until 1969. During the 1946 to 1969 time he also operated an ice cream plant adjacent (West) to the ice plant at 835 El Centro where he developed the Bon Bon ice cream novelties which were sold in movietheatres for many years.
