Mary A Ellis (Sandblom) - Class Of 1936

Mary A Ellis (Sandblom)

On September 17, 2014, a little after three in the afternoon, Mary Albertine Sandblom drew her last breaths. She leaves behind her daughter, April, and sons, Robert and Victor; as well as many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mary lived a long and fruitful life which began in Los Angeles, May 6, 1918. She married her husband Robert in 1943 and remained his devoted wife for sixty years, until his death in 2003. Some of her many accomplishments include graduating from the University of Southern California, being a member of the Women's Cavalry during the Second World War, being a docent at the Burke Museum, and becoming a professional florist. Most importantly, she was a loving wife and mother who brought much laughter and joy to those around her. Her insatiable curiosity for the eccentric, unique, and beautiful was a gift to her family and friends every day. Her sense of humor is cherished by all who knew her. She was an animal lover who owned many delightful dogs and cats, as well as a few horses, birds, and reptiles. She would have been overjoyed at any donation made in her name to any organization which helps animals.
