Robert Joseph 'Bob' Gillette - Class Of 1952

Robert Joseph Gillette, Jr, 80, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2013. Bob was born September 30, 1933 in Pasadena, California. He graduated in 1952 from South Pasadena-San Marino High School and received degrees from both Pasadena City College and Woodbury University.

Bob served in the Air Force and on November 28, 1964, Bob and Linda were married. They raised their family in southern California until he retired after 38 years with the City of Los Angeles. In 2004 they were able to relocate to Fortuna to be near their grown children and grandchildren. Bob was involved with Fortuna Senior Services, serving as treasurer in recent years. He was an avid reader with a love of presidential history and aviation. He spent endless hours building/flying RC planes and took pride in his perfect, immaculate lawn. He was passionate about his music and played multiple instruments over the years, often creating the soundtrack for family holidays. Bob and Linda took advantage of every opportunity to travel together, and made a tradition of family vacations where everyone could be together.
