Matilda Mazzetti (Faille)

Matilda 'Tillie' Mazzetti Faille passed away surrounded by her loving family on March 20, 2013, at the age of 88.  Tillie was born November 9, 1924, in Los Angeles of immigrant parents from Montemagno, Italy.

Tillie attended El Centro Elementary School, where she first learned the English language and in turn, taught it to her parents.  She attended South Pasadena Jr. High and graduated from South Pasadena High School in 1942.  Upon graduation from SPHS, she obtained a position at Citizen's Bank working in the escrow department.  

Tillie met her husband 'Ozzie' in Sun Valley, Idaho on a ski trip and they were later married in 1955.  They then purchased their first home in South Pasadena where they raised their two daughters.  In 1968 Tillie began working at Holy Family Church as a receptionist and accountant.  After her retirement from Holy Family she stayed active in church affairs until the time of her death.

Tillie was preceded in death by her husband Bernard 'Ozzie' Faille in 1993.  She is survived by her daughters Sandra (Paul) Fielding (SPHS '74) and Denise Faille (SPHS '75), her grandchildren Megan and Ryan Fielding, and her sister Josephine Mazzetti Gray (SPHS '46) of Morro Bay.
