Don Takumi Mukai - Class Of 1941

Don Takumi Mukai

Don T Mukai, 88, of Lansdale, Pennsylvania, passed away July 30, 2012. Born February 21, 1924 in Fresno, California, he was a son of the late Minekichi and Shizuko (Sumida) Mukai. A veteran of the US Army, he served his country honorably during World War II.

Don was employed for many years with Merck & Co, retiring in the early 1990s. Previously, he worked at Amchick in Lansdale and, early in his career, worked part-time as a barber. He was a charter member of the Blue comet Motorcycle club in Skippack, and enjoyed gardening.

Survivors include three daughters, Karen (Roderick) Almeida of New Hope, Kathryn (Dennis) Mohn of Schwenksville, and Barbara Bell of St. Louis, Missouri; his son, Steven (Lori) Mukai of Glenside; two grandchildren; three sisters, Kiyo Sakurai, Alice Hamane, and Junko Kameoka; and two brothers, Sam Mukai and Kenneth Mukai. He was preceded in death by a sister, Beverly Honda and a brother, Willie Mukai.
