Dorothy Reynolds (Black) - Class Of 1941

Dorothy Reynolds (Black)

Dorothy "Dottie" Black passed away peacefully Wednesday, December 23, 2009, after a brief illness.

Dottie was born in South Pasadena, California on September 11, 1923 and had called Cortez, Colorado her home for the last 18 years.  She raised her four children in California before moving to Corez to retire.  She knew many people in town, some of whom were treasured friends.  Special mentions to Bob and Shirley, Beth, Lorraine, Fayla, Gail and Mike, Renee and family, and all of Laurie's friends at City Hall.  The great love of her life was William (Bud) Lamsus, whom she lost in 1981.

Her four surviving children are Laurie Black from Cortez, Lynne Verity and son-in-law Don, Tom Black and Jim LaRock, all from California; her grandson Chad and great-grandson Zak of Cortez.

She was a loving mother and grandmother and a good friend to many people.  We will miss her, especially for her big, beautiful smile.
