Phyllis M Summers (Knipe)

Phyllis Summers Knipe, long-time Lake Oswego, Oregon resident, passed away April 29, 2013 in Oakland, California, following a stroke, she was 91. Phyllis was born in California on May 13, 1921, and graduated from the University of California at Berkeley in Political Science in 1942. In 1945 she married Robert Knipe. Together with their young family, they settled in Lake Oswego in 1957. Phyllis lived in Lake Oswego until 2011 when she moved to Oakland to be closer to her family.

Phyllis' love for her family and friends, her compassion for others, her love of travel and curiosity about the world enriched her life and that of those around her. She was predeceased by her husband and is survived by Janet Knipe, Sheryl Fullerton, Judith Bode, and Shahram Manouchehri, as well as many extended family members.
