Darleen Jean Duda Lucht

I am a preschool director in Hacienda Heights. I was a teacher in the early years and this job came along and I have loved it ever since. My two grandsons are now in the preschool and it is an added pleasure to watch them as they grow.

I have not moved much. My elementary school years I lived in El Sereno, Ca. (East LA) we moved to So. Pasadena when I entered 8th grade. Then I broke into the close knit society of So. Pasadena. From So. Pasadena we moved to Hacienda Heights, Ca. and I have been there here ever since. But I have traveled to Germany, Hawaii, Austria, Fiji, Poland and England. Who knows what the future holds for a So. California girl who likes her comfort zones.

My mom and dad moved to So. Pasadena in 1964. My brother Richard entered 6th grade and I was in 8th grade. My two older sisters, Dianne and Cathy were already in college. I remember 8th grade homeroom, (can't remember the teacher) and Angie Hantke was the first person to come up and talk to me. We have been close friends ever since. Then I met up with Cindy Unger and Michelle Elliott we became close friends. So I am a first generation So. Pasadena family. My brother Richard lives in the home in So. Pasadena that my parents built and owned. Our family goes back there for all the major holidays. So. Pasadena is considered my first home in my eyes.

I loved the football games. Usually Angie and I went and she did not like football but I felt important explaining the game to her over and over and over each Friday.
I remember my home economics class the most. Because the teacher whose name I have forgotten was a bit off but at the time I didnt know it.
I like Mr. Otto (is that right) class because he was so entertaining. Thats about all I can remember for now.

Milestones was getting married to a German man and being able to travel back to germany almost every year. We had two wonderful daughters.

My husband of 35 years died in 2007 and it was a sad time in our lives. My daughter was married 6 months later in Hawaii. Bittersweet

I am still a beetles fan but I listen to country and easy listening more. I tend to enjoy talk stations when I am in the car.

Favorite book is the bible! I am so looking forward to being able to read more in my retirement years.

I am retiring in July of 2014 after 30 years. I have moved to Yorba Linda, Ca. and live on a man made lake. I am enjoying my new environment. I am looking forward to joining a new church, making new friends but keeping the old. I have lots to look forward to.
