Wm H 'Scotty' Foulds

Worked for Pacific Bell, Bell Telephone Laboratories and AT&T for 34 years, primarily in Long Distance network operations and engineering and the last 7 years in Regulatory Matters dealing with the California State Public Utilities Commission. Took an early retirement 1/90 and finished grad school to become a licensed psychotherapist. Worked primarily with severely ill patients as follow up to hospitalizations for Kaiser-Permanente. I now do on-call work for group process at Kaiser's Walnut Creek clinic.

I moved to the San Francisco area in 1971. My parents moved to Orange Co. in the mid 60's and my brother and sister still live in that area.

It was a time of transition for me. I had just arrived from Glasgow Scotland in April 1952. The school culture was very different from Scotland in that there was no social activities associated with school, there were no choices in classes and teachers used corporal punishment to maintain discipline. I found South Pas High to be much more relaxed and super friendly.

Changing careers at age 53 was significant for me and opened up a new and much broader insight into relationships with family and with friends.

Love sailing, but don't get much of an opportunity to sail anymore. I do miss sailing in the warm Southern California waters. San Francisco Bay is so cold! Used to water ski and snow ski, but the old knees are not up to it anymore. These days gardening and lots of travel take up a lot of my leisure time.

Just about anything from the 50's, 60's & 70's. Watch American Idol, miss John Denver.

Love history, especially biographies of great Americans. I read a goodly amount of psychology books and my magazine interests are mainly about cars, especially sports cars.

I married Jan Peirce in 1998. Jan has two daughters, Jennie (born 1969) and Laurie (born 1975). We have four grandchildren on Jan's side of the family. Jennie has 5y/o Peirce and almost 3y/o Mirabelle. Laurie has 7y/o Amelia and almost 5y/o Mateo. Jennie & Doug live near Danville and Laurie lives in El Paso.
