Trudy Garmshausen (Bergler)

Trudy G Bergler passed away on June 14, 2014 in Redwood City, California after a long series of maladies. She was born on May 9, 1938 to Walter (SPHS '21) and Natalie Garmshausen of South Pasadena, California. She is survived by her loving husband of nearly 51 years, H.W. Bill Bergler, and sons Walt Bergler of Cold Springs, California and Mike Bergler of Irvine with his wife Lisa and children Natalie and Jonathan.

Trudy attended the public schools in South Pasadena and was Girls' Commissioner in high school. She attended the 1955 Girls' State program. She earned the Gold Award in Girl Scouts. Trudy graduated from UC Berkeley in 1960 and received her teaching credential the following year. Like her mother, Trudy was a member of Delta Gamma sorority and maintained many close friendships with her sisters.

Trudy was a fourth grade teacher in Arcadia and Monterey until she began raising her family. She attended nearly every athletic event from Little League to high school football games and track meets and was very proud of her two Eagle Scouts. She enjoyed years of regular tennis with many dear friends and was active in Tinkerbell Chapter of Children's Home Society. Trudy enjoyed relaxing at the family cabin in Pinecrest, California and on the shores of Maui, Hawaii, and the British Virgin Islands and travels to Europe.
