Wayne Shelton Dryden

Wayne Shelton Dryden died peacefully in Tennessee on July 18, 2016 at the age of 78 from a succession of strokes. Wayne was born August 26, 1937, in Pasadena, California to Harold and Elsie Dryden. He grew up in San Marino, attended Valentine and Huntington schools, and graduated from South Pasadena-San Marino High School. He graduated from Occidental College in 1959 with a degree in history and received a law degree from USC in 1962.

Wayne resided in Pasadena where he had a family law practice until he retired to Georgia in 2012. He travelled the world and believed in adventure. He also believed in hard work and standing up and fighting if you needed to. He had a gigantic heart and always put his family first. He loved with a huge passion for life and all that it's filled with. His legacy lives on forever in the hearts of his children and grandchildren, and in all the lives he touched.

Wayne is survived by his brother Gene (Ann) Dryden (SPHS '51)  of San Marino; daughters Brooke (Michael) Hughes and April (Aaron) Beach, both of Denver, Colorado; five grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews in San Marino and Oak Park, California. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents.
