Edward Wayborn Erikson

July 13, 1950 - April 21, 2021

A 1968 graduate of SPHS, Ed joined the Navy after graduation. After his tour, he worked for various companies but always came back to long-haul trucking. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Gael; his son, Edward Magnus Erikson, II; his daughter, Dyllan Erikson; his brothers Larry Erikson (SPHS 1970) and Don Erikson. He will be missed.

Ed, my brother died at age 71 after a short illness. Since then I have reflected on many fond memories of growing up. He was 2 1/2 years older than I, and I looked up to him, always taller, faster, bigger, etc. I probably was the irritating younger brother who tagged along, but he was good-natured about including me. We played on the same Little League team, in the same Cub Scout pack, and later Boy Scout troop. I remembered one time in particular when I was in first grade and a fifth grader started picking on me. Ed (then in the third grade) came to my rescue and chased the bully away. I will always remember him as a loving older brother. Rest in Peace, Ed, you are well loved.
