My one and only sister, Doretta Lynn Johnson-Puche (aka Dortie & later Dory), passed away August 22, 2020 where she resided in Douglasville, GA. Although hospitals weren't allowing visitors in due to Covid, they allowed her husband, only daughter & myself to be with her during her passing, once she was deemed "terminal". Dortie VALIANTLY fought & survived two very rare types of cancer! Sadly, a subsequent health-related issue took her life suddenly. Although we didn't have any extended family left, as our parents passed in '14 & '15, Dortie had MANY CLOSE FRIENDS WORLDWIDE! Her entire career was dedicated to the airlines, so she traveled the world over! She was a UCLA grad & avid fan, as were my parents & cousin J.D. Morgan (deceased UCLA Athletic Director). I, as well as my husband Dave Edwards (brother to Bill Edwards of '74) & our 2 sons who called her "Tia", loved her dearly & greatly miss her! Nonetheless...we know she's at peace now with family & friends (other dear '74 classmates) that have gone on to our eternal home.
Until we meet again, Judy Linda (Johnson) Edwards '77
Dear Judy Johnson, Thank you for sharing about your Sister. I am sorry for your loss. Though we were not close friends, your beautiful Sister was always friendly to me, and I found her to be a kind, gracious and intelligent woman. I pray that your good memories serve as a comfort to you and your Family. Tanya T. (Williams) Benzinger
