Frederick Allen Dahl

Frederick A Dahl died March 22, 2015, he was 86 years old. Born December 28, 1928 in Los Angeles, Fred attended South Pasadena-San Marino High School and graduated in 1948. One of his proudest accomplishments was reaching the rank of Eagle Scout in Troop 366 (now 342). He earned a petroleum engineering degree and an MBA from Stanford University. As a Lieutenant JG in the US Navy, Fred served on Bahrain Island and Kodiak Island, Alaska. He used these experiences to establish his own company, Dale-Dahl Associates, a company specializing in sales of technical engineering instrumentation.

In 1955, Fred married Dixie Livingston (SPHS '52). They raised their family in San Marino and later built their dream home in the South Pasadena hills. Dixie died in 1985 and Fred married Patricia Mamrelli in 1987. Fred and Pat spent the next 28 years traveling the world together. Fred loved sharing golf, chess, and stories with his family. He was also proud to have traced his Norwegian heritage back to 1774. 

Fred will be missed by his wife Patricia; his brother David (SPHS '49); his children, Steven (Laura) Dahl, and Tammie (Mark) Kallen; two step-daughters; and seven grandchildren.
