Barbara Arnold (Frayne) - Class Of 1946

Barbara Arnold (Frayne)

Our beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Barbara Frayne, age 82, passed away in Bakersfield, California, December 18, 2009. Barbara Ann Arnold was born in Kansas City, Missouri November 16, 1927. She moved to Pasadena, California at an early age with her family.  She attended UCLA and she soon met her lifetime love and husband of 55 years, Robert Walker Frayne who was a USC graduate.  That started a fun rivalry in their household; they had many parties watching USC/UCLA college football games.

Barbara was very intelligent; she worked at the Jet Propulsion Lab in Pasadena briefly before they started their family.  They lived in the southland until 1975 when Transamerica took their family to the San Joaquin Valley.  They lived most of the rest of their lives in Visalia, where she loved to read and play Bridge when Bob was working.  They traveled the globe extensively while Bob was Regional Manager of Transamerica Financial.  They spent many happy years in retirement, then in 2006, they moved to Bakersfield to be closer to their youngest son John, as their health began to decline.

Barbara is survived by two siblings; Marny Chase and Jack Arnold; husband Robert and their three children, John, Brian, and Elizabeth; grandsons Walker, Cole, and Josh; and many nieces and nephews.
