Donald E. Kruse - March 14, 1930 - July 26, 2011

Don, age 81, passed peacefully with his family at his side as he lost his valiant battle with cancer.  He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Jackie; daughters Suzie Kruse and Sandy DeYoung (Roger) of Newport Beach; and his two granddaughters, Kelly and Kasey DeYoung.  He was predeceased by his sister, Jane Brown (SPHS '44) and his parents, Clara and Art Kruse.

Don began his career at First Federal Savings and Loan in Alhambra and retired after many wonderful years as a Harbor Patrolman in Avalon.  Don's favorite days were spent with his family sailing, spending time in Avalon and enjoying his pool.  Don was a loving husband, father, uncle, and grandfather and we will all miss him dearly.
