Moved to SP in 1991 (just before start of freshman year)

People in the midwest think it is funny/weird/California-ish that we had to pass a swim test before we could graduate...I recall a strange experience in the pool involving making a flotation device out of your pants so you could stay afloat while waiting for a rescue team. It was not going well for me at all and I remember thinking "If I don't make a freaking life jacket by swooping air into these soaking wet pants with knots at the end of the legs, I am not going to graduate from high school?! This is nuts!" Thank goodness I have never had to use this life-saving skill! Definitely needed some delicious Golden China after that exhausting crazy business. :)

I still can't believe they tried to recapture the amazingness of Beverly Hills 90210...the magic of the original cannot be replicated!

Also, why did I watch Buffy the Vampire Slayer (the movie) about 1000 times?

For some reason I associate Strange Brew with high school and specifically with Katy Grubbs. Thanks for introducing me to that masterpiece, Katy!
