While raising her children, she volunteered as a Girl Scout leader, helped teach Sunday school at Saint Paul United Methodist Church where she was also active in the Women's Society of Christian Service.

Anne worked on the Amarillo Public Library bookmobile for five years and then as an adult reference assistant as the North Branch Library for 12 years and retired in 1985. After retirement, she was active in PEO, the Christian Workers Sunday School class at Saint Paul, and served as librarian at her church.

Anne moved to Westminster Manor in Austin after the death of her husband to be near her daughter and some of her grandchildren.
