Alma Lou Howard (Cannon)

Alma Lou Cannon, 86, passed away June 7, 2012 at the Cliff View Senior Living Center in St. George, Utah.  Alma Lou was born December 9, 1925 in Chester, Idaho to Burgess and Edna Blanchard Howard.  She moved with the family to Southern California during the depression.

During World War II, Alma worked at the Long Beach shipyards as a sheet metal worker and was in the service as a WAC.  She attended USC and had an interest in the dramatic arts.  She also studied at the Pasadena Playhouse and performed radio dramas on the local stations.  Her career included work at the BYU Movie Studio, Foreign Service with the State Department in Argentina, film making for the Sate Department, and worked in several capacities in the aerospace industry.

Alma Lou is survived by her brothers Max Howard (SPHS '45) of La Habra, California and Quilden Howard of Blackfoot, Idaho.  She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers, and a sister.
