Sydney Albert Lucas

Sydney Albert Lucas was born in Los Angeles, California on July 2, 1926 and passed away November 13, 2013. He graduated from South Pasadena-San Marino High School in 1944 and enlisted in the US Army Infantry in World War II. His final post was guarding General MacArthur in Japan.

After World War II, Syd graduated in 1951 from USC and was a member of Sigma Nu fraternity. He was a member of Solteros in Pasadena. He married Peggy Franco in 1960 and they had three children and now have four grandchildren.

Syd retired from IBM after 33 successful years. He was a member of the Newport Harbor Yacht Club and active in the community through Newport Sunrise Rotary for over 20 years, especially youth programs at Back Bay High School and Corona del Mar High English classes.

He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, friend and a Veteran.
