Nancy Jean Riesenbeck (Fix) - Class Of 1944

Nancy Jean Riesenbeck (Fix)

Nancy Jean Fix died May 31, 2011 of natural causes.  She was born August 24, 1926 in Los Angeles, California to Clemens and Evelyn Riesenbeck.

Nancy grew up in South Pasadena and at the age of 12, decided that she wanted to attend Stanford University.  She entered Stanford in 1944 and received a Bachelor of Arts from the School of Social Science with concentration in accounting and economics on June 13, 1948.  At Stanford she met engineering student Donald R. Fix, a Marine who served in World War II and a Stanford football player.  They married in March 1950 and had a lifelong attachment to Stanford.

In 1955, Nancy and Don settled in Fullerton where they raised their family and where Nancy was very active in the community.  She served as both President and Treasurer of the American Association of University Women and volunteered as an art teacher for the Fullerton School District.  In 1967 she was elected to the Fullerton Elementary School Board where she served for 16 years, three times as president.  During this time her husband Don started a business, Rodbusters, Inc. with partners.  Over time they became sole owners and Nancy became the business manager for the company where they had a successful reign together for 40 years.

In retirement they traveled the world with many of their beloved friends.  Surviving are her daughter Cathleen Ann Tryon and husband Richard Tryon; her son David Randall Fix and wife Kimberly Smith Fix; and grandchildren, David Matthew Fix and Ryan Christopher Fix and his wife Emily Bice.  We miss her deeply.
