Susan 'Sue' Coggeshall (Whiting) - Class Of 1947

Susan Coggeshall (August 12, 1929 - February 26, 2016), the single child to Howard and Betsy Coggeshall of San Marino. Growing up with her little black cocker spaniel named Inky, going to Anoakia School for Girls and summering in Del Mar. She then went back east to attend Pine Manor College, transferring back to the west coast after two years and graduating from Willamette University. Shortly thereafter, while attending a friend's party, Susan was to meet the handsome man (Sanford Whiting) that would become her future husband. They made their home together in Arcadia.

Sue enjoyed extensive traveling, reading and card games. She especially enjoyed reading the history behind antique furniture and other old items. Sue and Davis spent their summers in La Jolla. Mom belonged to several philanthropic organizations including the San Marino PEO, National Charity League, Pasadena Junior Philharmonic, the Childrens Hospital Guild, etc. Sue and Davis enjoyed a second home on Waikiki Beach, spending several months each year visiting their dear friends. After the birth of their first grandchild they moved to San Diego to be closer to family.

Mom is survived by her children, Carol Ratchuk, Sanford Whiting II, and her two grandchildren. She passed peacefully in her sleep. God bless you mom (mama), we know you are up in heaven dancing again with papa. Love you.
