Marilyn Miles (Sawyer) - Class Of 1947

Marilyn Miles (Sawyer)

Marilyn Miles Sawyer, a wonderful wife, mother, and friend, passed away on September 30, 2011.  Marilyn was born on April 2, 1929 to Barbara and George Miles.  She grew up in San Marino, California, later moved to Arcadia, and finally, Laguna Niguel, California.

Marilyn is survived by her husband of 62 years, Tom; daughters, Susan Racine, Sandy Frankel and Tricia Miles; son, Tom Jr.; and son-in-law, Jeff Frankel.  She leaves her sister, Virginia Miles Taylor (SPHS '44).  She also leaves behind six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and her beloved pugs, Millie and Bunny, who will dearly miss her.

Marilyn was nurturing and kind.  She warmed the hearts of all those she encountered.  She was a model of perpetual grace.  Honorable, elegant, and a pleasing example of humanity.  A wonderful mother, grandmother, friend, and neighbor.  To her wonderful neighbors and friends, she loved you all.  Holidays will never be the same without her, but we will do our best to make her famous Christmas morning "cheesy egg casserole".  I am sure that there is still an Easter egg in the yard that we haven't found yet, Grandma...we love you.
