Eve Alexander Young

Through 2024

Started out as a bit of a vagabond by moving to Greenwich Village in 1967 and being part of the music scene. Spent 1969 in Majorca Spain working at a night club owned by Jimi Hendrix but then returned to the Village in 1970. Got involved in the boating world and spent winters in Fort Lauderdale and summers on the Cape for five years. Finally decided to grow up and ended up in Washington, DC. Retired after 31 years as a senior advisor to Members of the U.S. House of Representataives, an experience where I drew upon my background of attending a small school. This is because Congress is very similar to a school where everyone knows each other...there are some you really like and some who you believe to be real jerks but good taste dictates that you are polite to all. There is no doubt that the work was grueling and completely dominates one's personal life but there are occasional brushes with incredible experiences one would be unlikely to have in more normal workplaces. I have been very lucky.

Feeling like I was a pair of brown shoes while the rest of the world was a tuxedo.

Outgrowing my gawky and coltish physical appearance.

Rather late in life I started pursuing an acting career which I managed to squeeze in while still working for the government and then with the part-time job I took with a DC law firm. I finally left the law firm so I could start checking the boxes on my Victory Tour (bucket list to some). So now I mainly travel and pick up acting jobs. The "acting" includes role playing (essentially playing "Cops and Robbers") with several federal agency training programs. Most recently I was beaten to death with a baseball bat for a program on the Investigation Discovery Channel, did an informercial for one of those late night "but wait there's more" ads, and a political message encouraging bipartisanship in our government. Basically I am in my 17th year of my plan for overnight success.
