Lucky for me, I had Miss Ryman three times. Whatever proficiency in math I attained owe to her. She was a great lady.

Somehow Miss Ryman taught me Geometry, in spite of my very weak background in Algebra. Math started to click for me in her class and I can attest to her teaching skills as I had no natural talent or interest in the subject. Hats off to Miss Ryman and all the other  dedicated SPHS teachers that would influence us for the rest of our lives.

I was not a student who was good at Math.  Miss Ryman somehow managed to get me through algebra with lots of  patience and always being available to answer questions after school.  She always started our math tests with 10 math related spelling words.  I knew I had 10 points right off the bat since spelling was my forte, even if math wasn't.  God bless Miss Ryman for her dedication to her students.

Whenever I am  asked who my favorite teacher was I can answer Miss Ryman without hesitation.  Math was not my strong suit but she was able to help me attain B's in Algebra and Geometry. Miss Ryman would meet me in the morning before school began and stay after if I needed the help.  I can still see her walking back and forth in front of the chalk board, with one arm in back as she wrote.  Thank you Miss Ryman.  Rest in Peace!
