Pastimes & Hobbies

Now in my 16th year of singing barbershop-style a cappella music. As both assistant director and singing member of MVC, I get to perform, teach, and direct. Between chorus and quartet, we perform in venues from concert halls to nursing homes, and have presented music clinics for elementary school singers. We compete annually against groups from all over the Northeast and eastern Canada.

Enjoy traveling when we can. We're in CA to visit family every summer.

Favorite Music, Songs, Bands

Played in marching band at SPHS and at the University of Pennsylvania (along with my now-husband), through graduate school.

Sang in 2 groups at SPHS, 3 in college, and 3 more since then.

Both older children play instruments in middle school band, and the youngest is waiting his turn (band instruments start in 5th grade here). Oldest will play in the local HS band this fall, which is an outstanding program that travels annually for major bowl parades, etc.

Some form of music is playing constantly at home and in the car - classical, jazz, classic rock, Disney tweenies (I do have a 12-year-old daughter). Barbershop a cappella is my primary hobby (only mentioned in 4 different places in this profile!) performing, teaching, directing, rehearsing - i'm singing all the time!

[Date] What's happening in my life now

Living in southern New Hampshire (about an hour north of Boston) with husband and kids. Busy with school, scouts, sports, etc. - life with 9, 12, and 14 year olds...

Assistant director of the Merrimack Valley Chorus, an award-winning women's barbershop a cappella chorus, and singing bass with SoundScape quartet. Both groups perform year-round and compete annually.
