Another Class of '60 classmate has passed away in recent months. John O'Keefe passed away in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. Born in California, he moved to the East Coast during his time in the Navy. Afterwards he moved to Colorado and spent the rest of his time there. He leaves his wife Julia, his son Tom, his daughter Kathryn Greenslade, and his granddaughter, Kayla Greenslade who has shared with us these memories of her grandpa:

John dedicated over 20 years of service to the military, 55 years of marriage to the love of his life, over 50 years of being a loving father, and 28 years being an amazing grandfather. He always had a story to tell or a history lesson ready to go. He sparked people's desire to learn. He made any museum fun and enjoyable, even in Kansas. He loved to travel to other states, even if it was just for a museum visit.

John always showed others respect. He inspired people to help others. He loved old westerns. And even better, he taught us how to make really good tacos. He made such a positive impact on anyone who crossed his path. It would be considered an honor to know him at any point during his adventurous, hard-working, loving 81 years of life.
