Sarah Wong, a South Pasadena resident was among the casualties the afternoon of April 27, 2019 after a construction crane fell from a building in Seattle, Washington, crashing down on the street below and killing four individuals.

Sarah, the daughter of Henry Wong and Andrea Wang, and sister of Aaron (SPHS '10), all longtime South Pasadena residents. Sarah was a freshman with an intended major in nursing at Seattle Pacific University and attended South Pasadena schools. She was a student at South Pasadena High School during her freshman year and took part in track and field on campus, before graduating from Futures Academy, a private school in Pasadena.
