Nancy Diehl

Nancy Ann Diehl, 69, died July 13, 2001 at her home in St George, Utah. She was born December 8, 1931 in Huntington, West Virginia to Herman and Grethel Smith Diehl.

Nancy was raised in West Virginia and Southern California then moved to Provo, Utah in 1973 and to St George in 1994. She converted to the LDS Church and was an active member serving as ward organist, teacher, member of the Relief Society and Relief Society president. She served two LDS missions, the first being divided between Germany and the Swiss Temple, and the other in Eugene, Oregon. 

She attended Oberlin Conservatory in Ohio and received a degree in Piano Performance at Sam Houston University in Texas and a masters degree in Musicology. She taught piano at BYU and private studios and was also a certified teacher of the NMTU. Nancy delighted all her friends and family with recitals and sharing her music. She loved nature and hiking.

She is survived by one son, Fred Brownlee (Jan) of Houston, Texas; one daughter, Laura Shepley (Richard) of Hooper, Utah; five grandchildren; one brother, Bill Diehl of Atlanta, Georgia; one sister, Carolyn Curtis of Pasadena, California; and a close friend, Sigrid Klein of St George, Utah.
