Margaret Fiddes (Padrick)

Margaret Fiddes Padrick

December 25, 1924 - September 23, 2022

Long time Fullerton resident Margaret Padrick has passed away. She was born in Los Angeles and grew up in South Pasadena, graduating from South Pasadena High, Pasadena City College, and UC Santa Barbara with a BA in education. Her first teaching job was at Lindbergh Elementary in Costa Mesa.

Margaret and her friend frequently traveled back and forth from their small house in Balboa to the family home in South Pasadena where they got together with friends and family. In the fall of 1948 on one of these trips home, a mutual friend introduced her to her future husband, Bob.

Bob and Margaret were married in April 1950 and eventually they settled in Fullerton in 1954 to raise two daughters. Margaret taught first grade at Orangethorpe Elementary, then at Sunset Lane. She loved teaching reading, math, and other firsts. After her retirement in 1985, she joined Friends of the Fullerton Public Library as a volunteer and a board member, where she could enjoy her love of books and reading. When Bob retired a few years later, they traveled and joined CLE (now call OLI) at Cal State Fullerton. They were very active in their church which they helped start. They eventually went on to enjoy their grandchildren and great- grandchildren.

Margaret is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Bob, and survived by her two daughters, Wendy and Cherie (Michael); three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was greatly loved and will be truly missed. Until we meet again.
