Alma Marine Kirk (Webster) - Class Of 1932

Beloved mother and grandmother, Alma Webster, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2013, at the age of ninety-nine. She was born Alma Marine Kirk on July 16, 1914 in Chisholm, Minnesota to Lula White and Alonzo Kirk. Her family moved to South Pasadena, California in the early 1920s, where she graduated with the Class of 1932 from South Pasadena High School. In her youth, she became an accomplished violin player.

Alma received a B.A. in English from nearby Occidental College and married her high school sweetheart, Donald E Blodgett (SPHS '32), at the Methodist Church in Pasadena on Thanksgiving Day, November 24th, 1938. Well after Donald's untimely passing, she married David R Webster on Valentine's Day, 1948.

For over 70 years, Alma had ties to the South Pasadena area. She enjoyed family, friends, and "The Beach" on the Balboa Peninsula. The past ten years have been spent living near her daughter in Solana Beach, California. Alma was preceded in death by her husband, and her brother, Harold B Kirk (SPHS '25). She is survived by her only child, Sandra (Edward) Butler; three grandsons, Brian, Glenn, and Kevin Butler; six great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Harriet Kirk.
