Pat was a neighborhood kid living across the street from my family on Meridian Avenue. Pat and his younger brother, Mike, became good friends with the 3 Ledder boys. Pat was very likeable and popular. Growing up, Pat was a very slow runner, but that all changed in high school. Pat became a star on the Tiger track team and ended up running the mile in well under 5 minutes, still an outstanding time some 48 years later. Pat and my brother, Fred, enagaged in some memorable races. Tragically, Pat died in an auto accident in 1965. His was a shortened life, but well lived. Rest in peace, my friend.
Have to say this was my VERY best friend. I will never forget the day I heard about his tragic death. Felt like I lost a brother. Thinking of you, dearest Pat!!
