Harriet 'Betty' Baker (Dice)

Harriet Elizabeth "Betty" Dice, 90, passed on peacefully Friday, April 8, 2011, in Camarillo, California.  Betty had been a resident of Los Osos from 1981 to 2008, where she served two terms as president of Las Amigas Women's Club in Morro Bay and was a member of Estero Bay Chapter 525, Order of the Eastern Star.  She was also a member of San Luis Obispo Club No. 13, Daughters of the Nile, an international fraternal organization, which assists in raising funds for Shriners Hospitals for Children.  She was past Matron and life member of Alhambra No. 193, Order of the Eastern Star and served as Deputy Grand Matron of the 81st District OES in 1981.  She was also a member of St. Peter's by-the-Sea Episcopal Church in Morro Bay.

Betty was born in Los Angeles and grew up in South Pasadena, California.  She graduated from South Pasadena High School and attended the University of California at Berkeley and UCLA prior to her marriage to Clifford Dice, Jr (SPHS "38).  They resided in Alhambra and South Pasadena until 1981.  Betty was an enthusiastic bridge player and enjoyed the many friendships she had made through her love of the game.  She loved the Central Coast area of California, and frequently entertained family and friends. 

Betty is survived by her son, Clifford Dice III of Camarillo; daughter Barbara Sorensen and a grandson, Randall Sorensen, both of Englewood, Colorado; and brothers Edward H. Baker (SPHS '41) of Bellingham, Washington, and John A. Baker (SPHS '43) of Upland, CA. and their families.  She was preceded in death by her husand, Clifford.

Susan Anne 'Sue' Dice (Roberts) (1971)

Aunt Betty, I have connected with Barb and Bud again. Many years of having no family. I wish I had know you and Uncle Cliff better.  Love to you   Susan
