Margaretta (Margaret) was born September 9, 1914 in Sioux City, Iowa and died June 18, 1990 in California.  She and her sister Elizabeth (SPHS '36) attended South Pasadena High School and Margaret graduated in 1932.  She then attended Pasadena City College for two years.  Margaret was offered a full scholarship to attend a women's college near San Bernardino.  However, the family needed Margaret to work rather than attend school and she started working for the phone company in 1934. 

Margaret married Albert Powell, Jr. and they had two children, Elizabeth and George.
