Mary Larson (Kessler)

Mary Margaret Larson Kessler, born November 23, 1923, passed away at age 93 on May 3, 2017 due to a stroke. Mary is survived by her daughters, Janet Kessler Torncello '63 and Jodie Kessler '66; grandchildren Ryan Torncello, Gordon Torncello, and Kathryn Torncello Miller; and three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Frank Kessler.

Mary and Frank were married in 1943 and after World War II settled in South Pasadena. Mary worked for Bullocks and then Macy's for many years in the Silver, Crystal, and China department. Eventually they sold their home in South Pasadena and moved to an ocean front home in Newport Beach. They purchased a motor home and spent many years traveling around the country. After Frank's passing in 1999, Jodie moved in with Mary and remained with her til the end.

Both Janet and Jodie traveled with Mary on RV road trips with the goal of enjoying the views and eating at their favorite restaurants around the United States. Mary was a grand lady who enjoyed her family, cold gin martinis up, and a good laugh!
