Doria M McDonald - Class Of 1938

Doria M McDonald

Doria was born on May 20, 1920.  Her family included her parents George and Mabel, her sister, Mary (SPHS '35) and her brother, Henry (SPHS '33).

Doria grew up in the Los Angeles area, attended schools in South Pasadena and San Marino and graduated from college at USC.  Her distinguished career was spent in human resources breaking "glass ceilings" in management for 26 years with the University of California.  She retired at age 55 as Director of Human Resources for UCLA Medical Center.  She lived in Sierra Madre along with her extended family for most of her retirement years.

Doria's many years of retirement allowed her to travel the world while still being the loving matriarch and role model for her family.  In addition, Doria volunteered for many years with Meals on Wheels, Sierra Madre, and Women At Work in Pasadena.

Doria passed away peacefully on March 9, 2013 at age 92.  We shall all miss her dearly!  She is immediately survived by her nieces, Cecile Goodwin of Sierra Madre and Jeanette Martin of San Marino and an extended family.
